5 Ways to Alkaline your Body

Practices that make your body more alkaline are associated with improving general body health, such as eliminating the disease’s probability. Moreover, over-acidity in the body is known to affect your health. For example, it can increase inflammation, making it a threat to cancer, arthritis, and heart disease patients.

There are several ways and practices that you can incorporate to alkalize your body. They include:

Drinking a mixture of lime juice and turmeric

This might be confusing to most people since lemon is known to be an acidic substance. However, it can work wonders when it comes to reducing acidic reflux in the body. When you take a mixture of lime juice and turmeric, it will be digested and metabolized by the body. This will produce alkaline products, which will go a long way in neutralizing the acid present in the stomach. Our Jamu juice is made of turmeric and it can go well with some lime juice for extra benefits.

Breathwork

Taking deep breathes is one of the most effective ways to reduce acidity in the body. In fact, when you breathe deeply, you are working on your body’s alkalinity in two ways. Forst, you will be increasing the amount of oxygen in the body, relieve stress, and cleanse the body by eliminating toxins. Additionally, you will be alkalizing the body by improving the digestion process. This is achieved especially when you take breaths deep enough to fill the lower part of the lungs with oxygen.

One might ask, how do you take these breaths? It is simple; count from one to five as you slowly take in air, then pause for another count to five, and then exhale slowly, still on a count to five.

Eating green

Some foods help to counter the acidity in the body as well as the risks associated with it. Most of them are known as green foods because most of them are plant-based. Other than their acidity-reducing properties, these foods have also shown many healing properties and a high nutrient density. Below are some of the alkalizing properties:

  • Almonds
  • Tomatoes
  • Spinach
  • Parsley
  • Jalapeno
  • Garlic
  • Avocadoes
  • Basil
  • Red onion

Cutting down on coffee

Have you ever taken coffee, and then you suddenly experienced heartburn out of nowhere? This is because when you take coffee, it relaxes the esophageal sphincter and triggers GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease) symptoms, which can cause an increase in acid efflux and heartburn. Other than this, coffee has also been associated with dyspepsia, acid indigestion, and reflux.

All these calls for you to reduce the amount of coffee intake to reduce the body’s acidity.

Mindset

Over the years, balance has been used to gauge a healthy life and state of mind. This theory can also come to play when talking about the body’s pH levels. According to several studies, when you have stress, and negative emotions build up in your minds, the body can manifest this as acidity. Therefore, it is recommended that you work on your mindset to reduce acidity and your well-being.

Conclusion

Maintaining an alkaline state in your body is crucial. The good thing is that the practices to do so are simple, cost-effective, and easily manageable.
